Performance of the week: Heartbreak. (Soaps.com)
Julie's General Blogspittle
(Week of November 3 - 7).

I retract everything I said about Luke and Laura thus far. They found their chemistry this week and I found myself aching over the whole mess that they've found themselves in. Granted, it's a happy mess comparatively, but still, it feels like a mess in my heart.(Let's face it, she's lucky to be awake and Luke's lucky to be alive.) Once Luke had the chance to rationally explain how he came to marry Tracy and actually care for her, I felt better. Laura heard him out like a grown up and maintained that her only complaint about the process was that he patronized her by not telling her the truth two years ago. If she had been any other female character on the show, she would have tapped into their history and obvious connection to one another and manipulated him into spending the rest of his life with her. But, she's Laura. She respects the institution of marriage and didn't use the 'grandfather clause' when she very well could have. It's hard not to wonder what Luke would've done had she pushed harder, but we'll never know that. I will note that when asked if he loved Tracy, he said that he cares for her. As viewers, we know darn well that just a week ago he told Tracy that he loved her. Laura, wise as she is, knew Luke well enough to know that 'care' meant 'love' and that he simply chose his words carefully so as not to hurt her any further. I can't help but wonder how we'll all feel next week, but I won't say more for those of you who don't like to read spoilers. Still, I'm not sure how I'll feel about Laura's departure…

I will comment about Laura's children, however. Lulu's connection to Tracy in the midst of a possible reunion for her parents was somewhat unexpected but nice, I thought. As for the boys, I had to keep reminding myself that Nik and Lucky haven't even seen Laura awake yet, for all they know her recovery isn't even real. Maybe they'll get a little mama bonding time this week, and hopefully, the connection will still be there for us all to see.

The other heart-wrenching story last week involved Patrick and Emma, in my opinion. Could they have picked a sweeter infant to play Emma, by the way? My cheeks just ached during all of her scenes because I don't think I could've smiled any bigger at the mere sight of her on my TV screen. I'm not sure, but I think I heard myself cooing, too. And, as much as I like the thought of Robin and Patrick and baby making three, wouldn't it be kind of bittersweet to see bachelor Patrick fall in love with fatherhood all on his own? I know, I'm flying in the face of soap legend here, but still, it's my column, right? I say keep Robin in a coma for a while and let's see a little Patrick and Emma show for a while, eh?

Robin is small and needy? (Soaps.com)
I know we were supposed to be torn in many directions over the multitude of camera angles of Sonny stripped to the waist in Carly's bed, but this fan wasn't. 'Enough already' was all I could think of as they secretly lusted for each other. Kate seems to have been put on ice for all intents and purposes and certainly Carly could've managed to spend time with Jax when he finally decided to give their marriage another try, don't you think? I was none too pleased to see Sonny shackled and sinking in the harbor, but I didn't want it to come to this. By week's end I found that I was happier to see him spray Karpov with bullets than watching him lounge shirtless at Carly's place. The lesser of two evils, I guess.

As for Sam's plight, I find that I care more about Jerry than I do about her, much to my surprise! I think it's because I don't doubt for a minute that she'll somehow escape unscathed, but Jerry I'm not too sure about. He's such a train wreck, right? I know we've all heard by now that Jerry's leaving the canvass and I can't help but worry about how it'll happen. I know, I know, I've got a soft spot for the bad boys, so shoot me!

My line of the week isn't necessarily my favorite, rather it's something I wanted to discuss with you guys. Remember when Patrick was talking to Emma and comparing her to her Robin. Specifically, he said, ''Perfect and beautiful, just like her mom. Small and needy, just like her mom." Huh? Was he really saying that Robin is small and needy? Does he remember any of the past year or so? Robin is anything but. Is it possible that I heard that wrong? Please, dissect it for me below!

So there you have it guys, everything that meant anything to me last week. You?

Hey Julie,

Great blog! I too was confused over the 'small and needy' thing and I agree that Emma is the cutest baby ever! Oh my God, I love her and I'm not really a baby person. I loved all the Robin/Patrick stuff last week, especially Robin's family and Spinelli waiting it out together.

I found there was a note of sadness with the Luke and Laura scenes. He mentioned their love in the past tense and when Tracy told him she doesn't bow out gracefully, he responded why bow out at all. I think he loves both women but Tracey is better suited for him.

Great scenes with Patrick and Robin. Who could imagine when Dr. Drake first came to GH that he would want to be married and become a doting father? Loved all the scenes with Maxie, Anna, Spinelli, Matt, Mac, Robin and Patrick. This is what a soap opera should be about: family.

While I admit I am not a big Jerry fan (the abuse of women just turns me off), I do like Sebastian Roche and will miss his prescence on the show. I remember there was a time when I really didn't pay much attention to the show until he appeared in a hospital scene and made me take notice. I thought he was a wonderful villian during the Metro Court hostage situation and for the first time was truly surprised that he was actually Jax's brother Jerry. It just won't be the same without him.

I will miss the character Jerry who was so sexy, well-built and well played by Sebastian Roche. I remember a promise by producer & head writer to give Jerry Jacks more air time. Jerry & Alexis never were seen in tangled covers together! I, for one, was looking forward to those scenes. Sam's comment wasn't lost on me either. It was something like How many times can you get plastic surgery & return to Port Charles. I'll miss this reincarnation of Jerry. Sebastian was a great hiring and they misused their chance and went for the same old mob and sob. When Roche is gone I won't watch GH any longer or any other abc soap! Bring him back or keep him and I'll stay a loyal viewer. Let's not forget how great Sebastian was at live gettogethers!!!! I'm complaining to everybody! Hey. it worked Star Trek!!!

Thought the scenes with Luke and Laura were wonderful. Two great performers putting it out there. Enjoyed the Scrubs scenes also. Think Patrick might be right. Robin wears her independence like a suit of armor to hide the fact that she is needy. Glad Sonny shot Karpov, the show didn't need him. Wish he would hide the body so no one would know for sure that he was dead. From what I hear, Sebastian Roche has some other project(s) he is working on that did not fit in with the GH schedule, but they are leaving the door open for a possible return. This sounds like they are killing off Mr. Craig but Jerry Jax might be out there somewhere. As he told Sam, he is leaving behind enough evidence for people to think he is dead.

I love that Sam is working with Jason now and I hope they continue this. I have missed Sam being front and center in the show and I hope it continues!

Watching "General Hospital" this week was good.
I love how the storyline goes into a mob war.
I was so glad to see Sonny blow Kapov away for payback. To bad things doesn't look well, when it comes to Sonny family. Maybe Sonny should think about next time when he decide to killed another moster in town. Don't get me wrong I glad to see Kapov dead. But I think Sonny should went to Jason for help after what Kapov did to him.

Now we got this whole explodision of mob war.
I do hope Sonny get in on time to save Oliva. Because if anything happened to Olivia, I know Danta probably blames Sonny if anything happened to his mother. I do hope someday that Danta and Sonny have a relationship of father and son bond.

I was sorry to see Laura go but glad that they didn't have her go back to sleep but instead living a life in Paris and hope that means will see her again soon. I am glad sonny is finally get some of what he deserves but wish everyone else around him didn't have to pay for his stupid move on Karpov. I really really hope they do not put Jason & Sam back together because that would be such a big mistake. Watching them together is very awkward you can see how these two actors try really really hard to make it look like there is chemistry that just isn't there. Now Jason & Elizabeth only have to look at eachother & you can feel the passion & deep longing love, those two together make you believe it is real, and comeon they even have there own song. Elizabeth has been in the shadows too long they need to get her out there & be tough because Rebecca Herbst really is good at making you feel whatever her character is feeling and she can do it with just one look. I was glad to see Gerry Jax gone he was too bad to ever like.

I don't know what the writer's are waiting on Jason needs Sam and she needs him.Liz is to needy and I just all around hate her. Jason needs to be with a woman who knows and understands him.Sam was always there and taking near death chances to be with him and there for him. This so called relationship that Jason and Liz don't have he needs to get back with Sam and let her have there baby.
